Great Show at the Whammy Bar

Our full set at the Whammy Bar last night was absolutely a blast. It’s great to finally get all of the songs debuted in public! Fadeback did a great job opening up for us, and we’ll be sure to play a show with them again soon.

Playing at the Whammy Bar on July 20th

Else will finally get the opportunity to play a full set, playing all of our originals plus a cover or two, at the Whammy Bar on July 20th. We’re working on an opening band for the night.

New Gigs in July and August
June 24th, 2013
Else will be crashing the Whammy Bar on July 11th again to play another short set of originals. We had a great time last time we were there, and really appreciate the expertly run sound.
We’ve also added an August date, playing with Lying Still at the Blue Pig on August 10th.
Both events have been added to our calendar and we’re incredibly excited for both. It feels great to really get some momentum going.

New Show Announced: August 16th at the Down and Over

Else has put together a show with Ultrea, a Madison-based rock band fronted by dual female vocals, Lying Still, a fantastic Milwaukee hard-rock band, and Encryptor, the amazing and amazingly popular instrumental math-metal band from Milwaukee. The show starts at 9pm on August 16th ad the Down and Over in Bay View.

Open Jam at the Whammy Bar was a blast

Thanks to the Whammy Bar for letting us crash their open jam with a 30+ minute set last night! That marked our long-awaited public debut after years of writing, auditioning, and practicing. There were a few butterflies but it went really, really well and we were well received by the big crowd there. We captured some video for you to enjoy and will definitely be back soon.

New Show Announced – June 13th at the Whammy Bar

Else has booked another show, this time out in Stallis. We’ll be playing with Lying Still on the 13th of June at the Whammy Bar. We’ve heard it’s a great venue, so this should be a lot of fun!

First Gig Booked!

On July 20th, Else will be playing with Lying Still (http://www.reverbnation.com/lyingstill) and Less Than Popular (http://www.reverbnation.com/lessthanpopular) at the Blue Pig in Cudahy (http://www.bluepigbar.net/). We’re incredibly excited to have something on the calendar after years of songwriting, recording, auditions and practice.
We are hoping to keep booking gigs, and might even have some shows before July. In the meantime, we’re going to keep practicing and recording drum and vocal tracks.

Sigur Ros Show in Chicago

On Tuesday the 2nd three of us (Nate, Kent, Jon) traveled to Chicago for the night to catch the Sigur Ros show. They’re a band that’s influenced us immensely over the years, and one we frankly thought we’d never really be able to see. We didn’t really get into them much until the later 2000s, and we thought we had pretty much missed our last opportunity to see them live. We’re so glad they came back because it truly was a great show. We definitely saw some more inspiration up on stage that we hope to bring to some of our gigs.

Two Songs Down, More to Come

We wrapped up recording, mixing, and a decent at-home attempt at mastering on two tracks earlier this week. You can listen to “Easy Way Out” and “Nevermore”on our home page or Bandcamp page. This weekend we’re recording vocals for a few more, and drums will soon follow up. We aim to have a 6-8 song ep ready for our first gigs, which sadly have yet to be scheduled. If any of you out there listening like our stuff and know of any opportunities for us to play, go ahead and contact us.
